MeMom leaves Rome

May 18th--MeMom left Rome today for her 12 day cruise. We left the apartment at 11:00 to help her and Gilda get to the train station. We figured that if we could get them on the train to the port, surely they could make it onto the boat by themselves! We put them on the train and waved goodbye at about 12:15 as the train pulled away heading for the port. We haven't seen any CNN reports about lost Americans so we assume they made it. After that, the kids ate lunch at McDonald's while Mike and I found some Asian food. It was a nice change from the Italian food. We then headed back to the apartment for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Everyone rested and then we went to the park for a couple of hours before dinner and bedtime. There was some junior high (or similar age) band concert going on in the park. We all enjoyed the music as the kids played. We all turned in early because we are heading south tomorrow to the Amalfi coast for a few days.
